Conjunctural Analysis Toolkit
Toolkit: Climate Vanguard, 14 September 2026
The pace of history is dizzying. It feels like everything is constantly shifting, with new crises popping up seemingly out of nowhere, and the relationship between local changes and broader structural developments often hard to decipher.
Without a concrete assessment of the present moment, it is difficult to develop a strategy that allows us to meaningfully intervene in these conditions in order to shape the future. Conjunctural analysis is what we call this foundational work of understanding the present.
To empower our movements to make more strategic interventions, this toolkit aims to clarify what conjunctural analysis is and provide some direction on how to do it. It provides a general definition of ‘conjuncture,’ highlights some examples of conjunctural analysis, and finally, offers a guide on how to conduct conjunctural analysis in political organisations.
You can access the toolkit here.
